What is a mutual fund?
A mutual fund pools money from many investors and invests it in shares, bonds, gold or other assets according to a stated plan. A professional fund manager makes the investment decisions.
When you invest, you get units of the fund. As the value of the fund's investments goes up or down, the value of your units moves with it.
Mutual funds in India are regulated by SEBI. Each fund is run by an asset management company (AMC), and your money is held by an independent custodian, not by the AMC or by this app.
Example
If you invest ₹10,000 when the NAV is ₹50, you get 200 units. If the NAV rises to ₹60, your investment is worth ₹12,000.
